The Comfort Heritage Foundation board consists of a group of dedicated volunteers with an enthusiasm and passion for the history of Comfort.  Many with ties to Comfort's past.

Louis Strohacker - President

Dolores Steubing - Vice President - Delores' interest in the Comfort Heritage Foundation began about 10 years ago when she started attending meetings that offered programs that were of interest to her historically. She also enjoyed attending CHF's Historic Home Tours. She grew up in a ranch house built in 1898 by my grandparents, Gustav and Lina Geissler Marquardt, near Sisterdale. She says she is blessed to be able to live in that home again.  I am a direct descendant of Gottlieb Erdmann Marquardt and Marie Helfritsch Marquardt who settled near Sisterdale in 1855 and who are recognized as one of Kendall County's Founding Families.

Sue Schwethelm - Treasurer -  Sue Schwethelm was born and raised in Comfort. She is a member of the Comfort Heritage Foundation because of her love of her home town. Both of her paternal grandparents were born in Comfort and part of the early settlers. Her grandmother's family, Seidenstickers, came to Comfort in 1854 while Heinrich Schwethelm, her great great grandfather arrived in 1868. Her great grandfather, Arno Schwethelm, was a prominent businessman. He had a general store, bottled soda waters, owned a silent movie theater/dance hall and bar.
