...see buildings as they were designed and built in the 1800s...

The Comfort Heritage Foundation (CHF) is a tax exempt chartered foundation to promote and encourage, for the betterment of the community, the preservation and conservation of Comfort's historical heritage, including historical structures, archives, cultural values, traditions and its natural beauty. The archives are open Tuesdays and Saturdays for assistance in research and to view local historical documents and artifacts. Hours of Operation are Tuesdays (9 a.m. - noon) and Saturdays (10 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.).

One can walk down High Street and see buildings as they were designed and built in the 1800s.  If you are lucky enough to run into “old Comfort”, you can hear about the origins of the domino game or how the old bank building was robbed!

Comfort’s downtown is a National Register Historic District comprised of more than 100 buildings built between 1854 and 1954.
